Other Christian Prayers
Throughout Christian history, believers have composed and practiced a rich variety of prayers—some ancient, some modern, some personal, some communal. Here are notable Christian prayers from different ages and traditions that have not yet been highlighted:
Gloria Patri (Glory Be): “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.”
Apostles’ Creed: An early statement of Christian faith, often recited in worship and baptism.
Nicene Creed: The foundational creed of Christianity, used in liturgy across denominations.
Magnificat (Song of Mary): “My soul magnifies the Lord...” (Luke 1:46–55), a prayer of praise and humility.
Benedictus (Song of Zechariah): “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel...” (Luke 1:68–79).
