I’ve been looking into the proposed Site Layer 1 data center in southern Grant County, and I’m still undecided. There could be real opportunities here: skilled work, local business, and money for public services. There are also questions about water, a substantial natural-gas power plant, nearby residents, and who would be responsible if the promises fall short.

I want America to remain strong in artificial intelligence. I also want the people who live here to have a clear understanding of what this particular project would mean for them. We can take both responsibilities seriously.
