World War II: The Axis Powers Four Coin Collection in (Mini Album)(C)
Description
WORLD WAR II: THE FALL OF THE AXIS-If the causes of World War One remain convoluted, and its necessity suspect, the Second World War incontrovertibly started because of aggression by Nazi Germany, and it stands as one of history’s examples of a war that simply had to be fought.-As ambitious as he was evil, Adolf Hitler took advantage of Europe’s reluctance to muster armies so soon after 1918, unleashing the Nazi war machine across the continent. He wanted his Third Reich to conquer continental Europe, and he sought to liquidate large numbers of those people he conquered. With the help of his Fascist ally, Italy’s Benito Mussolini, he came terrifyingly close to succeeding.-As Nazi Germany wreaked havoc in Europe, the Japanese Empire, already at war with China, sought to expand its vast territorial reach. Japan hoped that by attacking the United States, it could convince the Americans to quickly come to terms and allow them free reign in the Pacific. This proved a fatal error for both the Japanese and the Nazis, as the U.S. entered the war on both fronts, turning the tide toward the Allies.-The United States and its allies managed to defeat the Axis Powers and win the war, for themselves and the good of humanity.--This remarkable collection features three coins minted by the three major Axis powers— a 5 Reichspfennig from Nazi Germany, a lira from Mussolini’s Italy, and a Japanese 5 sen—as well as a U.S. steel penny that circulated during the World War II.
