A special from Espaneta, New Mexico, says: “News from Los Truches, sixteen miles east of here, that a very old Mexican lady, who, with her son, was in a pinon grove, several miles from home, was eaten by a bear. The mother and son separated during the afternoon, and at night the son went to camp and built a fire, but waited all night for his absent mother, and as soon as it was light he started to find her, and after several hours search found her torn cloth- ing and bones and hair. There were plenty of bear tracks where the remains were found.”
