A special  to  the  Herald  from  Severance,
Kansas,  where  the  Freeman  murder  occurred,
yesterday,  says  that  Mrs.  K.  D.  Smith,  whose
son  married  a daughter  of  Samuel  Freeman,
the  man  who  shot  his  wife,  child  and  himself,
was  so  shocked  when  she  heard  of  the  tragedy,
that  she  was  taken  violently  ill  and  died  within
a few  hours.
