Don Simon Amaya, of Guerrero County, Chihuahua, Mexico, a gentleman of consider- able prominence in his section, is at the present time a refugee in this city. Don Simon recently started a small revolution down there, but under the present administration such things are of short duration, hence his arrival in the United States. He is accompanied by a friend, Senor Vasquez, a fine looking gentleman, who was also somewhat mixed up in the revolution. The trouble arose over tax matters. An officer from Chihuahua was here last week looking for the fugitives, but they had not then arrived. Don Felipe Gutierrez, a Mexican congressman, and a brother-in-law to the present governor of Chihuahua, who is here on mining business, met the revolutionists, and advised them to go home, but they are afraid to risk it yet awhile.
