Harry Wolburn, a Cornish miner, whipped
three or four men at the Centennial on Monday
night. He was brought before Judge Lucas on
Tuesday and fined $10 and trimmings. He re-
fused to pay the fine and asked for a transcript
of the proceedings which he wished to forward
to the mother country, in order to ascertain if
the proceedings were regular. When the offi-
cers started with him for the cooler, he dug up
a shining $20, settled the score, and was told to
“go and sin no more.”
