Hutchinson testified that Manley put away
his pistol in the store, but in a few moments left
the store and crossed the street, going toward
where Redding stood. Redding stepped forward
two or three steps meeting Manley, and fired
four shots, three of which took effect in Man-
ley’s body, and Manley died instantly.
