iE T EL PASO HERALD 12 Thursday January 1 1914 New Mexico Mines Show Very Heavy Gains i MQGQLLQN MINES NGREASE YIELD Lordsburg and WMte Oaks Districts Also Increase Output WASHINGTON D C Jan 1 Large sains were made in the production of the precious and scmlprecious metals in New Mexico in 1913 according to preliminary esti mates by Charles W Henderson of the United States geological survey The mine production of gold showed an increase of 100000 over the out put of 784446 in 1812 that of silver an increase of 100000 ounces over the production of 1536701 ounces in 1912 lead a decrease of 800000 pounds from the yield of 5494018 pounds in 1912 copper an increase of 20000000 pounds over the yield of 34030964 pounds in 1912 and zinc figured as spelter or zinc in zinc oxide an increase of 8000000 pounds over the output or m 566637 pounds in 1912 Despite lower average yearly prices for cSpper and zinc the total value of the output was 11620000 an Increase for 1913 of over 3000000 MoeolleH District Ha Big Gain TheMogollon district in Socorro county which in 1912 yielded 67 per cenfof The state yield of gold
