Unless some measures are adopted by the city regulating jitneys and au tomobilists in general in regard to the reckless manner in which they whlrl around street corners there is going to be something awful happen here some day in Laredo The negligence on the part of some of the auto driv ers has gone beyond all bounds and when they get started down a sircet they appear to take on a determined look which seems to say skedaddle or you will get hit The streets of Laredo are not own ed exclusively by the automobilists and jitney drivers and they should be impressed with this fact At night Lere especially on the corner of Flo res Avenue and Farragut street the autos and Fords come around thef corners at a terrific rate of speed irrespective of who else may be on the street Last night a little babyj crossing the street was almost hit by one of the jitneys and the look on the face of the driver when he passed within a few inches of the child seem ed to say why in thunder didnt you keep off the street we own it Hence somebody is going to
