THURSDAY MARCH 28 1912 THE SANTA FE NEW MEXICAN SANTA FE N XL LEGISLATVEPDINTERS Representative Charles C Catron won his political spurs in managing the successful senatorial campaign of his father Senator Thomas Benton Catron Said a prominent Albuquerque citi zen yesterday Albuquerqie overlooked an oppor tunity to secure one of the Senator ships It is not a hidden or unknown fact that William H Andrews has been the particular friend of the Duke City and has been and is one of its resi dents owning his home in that city If it had not been for W H Gillen water and the Progressive crowd Andrews would eventually have land ed one of the Senatorships Andrews had expected their support He had a right to expect it considering the many things he has secured for the Duke City but gratitude is evidently not the strong point of communities It is perfectly well understood that the four men representing Rio Arriba and Taos counties in the House who are accused of soliciting and accept ing a bribe were supporters of Sen ator Andrews Should they be ac quitted and retain their seats it would lend color to the accusation freely made
