Break Ground For the New Church New Home of Mrst Metho dist Church Will Oost 50000 Ground wae broken for the mw First Methodist chorch corner Mon tana and Iee streets Wednesday aft ernoon the first shovelful of dirt being thrown by Mrs H DC Whit field president of the aid society After Mrs Whitfields successful ef fort others followed Methodists and members of other congregations vis itors in the city old and voung In cluding even the toddlers haTing a part in the ceremony A portable organ had been provided at which Mrs B E Nold presided Mr Nold leading the singing The exer cises opened with the singng of the doxology after which Rev Mr Nicho las of the Texas Childrens AW work led in prayer Rev John B Abbott of the Westminister Presbyterian church brought the congratulations of the other churches and Mr Nold sang In the Palace of the King Rev German G Porter expressed appreciation of the friendliness of the other churches and the people of Kl Paso generally towards the new en terprise He also mentioned the fact that it was a pleasant surprise to find so many friends coming to the fore with
