In the case of A. M. Hunter, charged with
assault to murder George H. Nye on the ranch
of the latter, on April 24, 1891, a trial was
had on Wednesday and the defendant acquitted.
The testimony tended to show that Nye had
fired the first shot, and the jury evidently did
not consider the shooting by the defendant
felonious for that reason. The case of Drew
Hunter indicted with his father for the same
offense, was nullified, and the defendant dis-
charged.
