Last Friday F. J. Sweeney, a well-known miner of Central, was killed by several tons of earth falling on him in H. J. Hutchinson’s mine in that camp. The accident was discovered by the dead man’s son, who carried dinner to his father. The funeral took place in this city on Sunday from the Methodist church under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity. The Masons have contributed about $250 to the family of deceased. Rev. Williams was the collector.
