nearest approach being the construction of
reservoirs and canals for irrigation purposes.

agricultural pursuits, a small orchard and gar-
den being the only effort in that direction.
Harvey H. Whitehill is probably the only in-
dividual in the territory who can properly lay
claim to owning an entire town, and that fenced
in. A number of cattle roam at will through
the streets of the once great “city”, and the
majority of the buildings which once constituted
the settlement are now more or less in ruins.
