The little 16 months old girl of George
Schaffer met with a painful and possibly fatal
accident Monday. Her mother was boiling a
piece of beef and took the kettle off and sat it
on a bench for the purpose of removing the
meat. While her back was turned the little one
toodled up and caught hold of the kettle, up-
setting it and receiving the whole of the con-
tents on her little body, literally skinning her
from neck to hips. Her mother immediately,
without stopping to think, put her into a tub of
water which happened to stand near, and
whether it was a good or bad move is still in
doubt. At last accounts the little one was in
a precarious condition.
