Sheriff Laird went to El Paso a few days
ago and brought to this city Leon Heifca, the
Cuban negro who killed Bill Young, a Chinese
restaurant keeper in Deming. The murderer
shot the Celestial in the back, and claims that
the offense was non-payment of waiter wages
for two weeks. Young was a highbinder, it is
said, and claimed to have been naturalized.
