Buck had resided there less than two years, coming from Texas, where he had made a tem- porary location after graduating in the law. He was a bright young man, and during his short sojourn here had made many warm friends and, as he was a man of strong preju- dices and generally expressed his opinion pretty freely, he had not a few enemies in this section of the county.
