ESCAPES HOTEL FIRE
Mrs. Jesse Shanklin, well known in this
city, was seriously burned and hurt while es-
caping from a hotel at Morenci, Arizona, which
was on fire. She was in the second story and
did not know the building was on fire until it
was too late to escape by the stairway. She
finally succeeded in raising the window, but
not until she had been badly burned. The baby
was dropped into the arms of a friend, Mrs.
Shanklin then jumped out and was badly hurt
in the fall. The baby was slightly burned. Mrs.
Shanklin will recover.
