property is owned by Judge J. Crockett Givens
of Central and promises to make him a bonanza
prince.
The miners of Chloride, Sierra county, have
organized a militia company for offensive and
defensive operations against Indians, now said
to be lurking in that vicinity. The company is
composed of miners and prospectors, and should
the boys meet the enemy, somebody is liable to
get hurt.

held next week as follows: At Mr. Metcalf’s,
at the Mangas, on Tuesday evening, the 16th
