sentative and a Buffalo for sheriff. Texas is a

In Which a Gentleman Well Known
Here Takes a Hand
A recent dispatch from Cincinnati con-
tains the particulars of a shooting scrape be-
tween Charles W. White and John P. Slough,
a brother of Dr. W. M. Slough, of this city.
John Slough and also his first wife, is well
known here, having been here on several occa-
sions visiting. They were divorced some two
years ago, after which Mr. Slough courted and
married a charming young lady in Cincinnati,
the daughter of Charles W. White, a prominent
lawyer. Slough lived in Chicago but trouble
arising between them, the wife came back to
her father and was followed by her husband.
In consequence of the domestic quarrel bad
feelings have existed between Slough and
