to believe the evil reports which have been
circulated concerning him. He was formerly a
cattle king in Texas, and although fortune has
not favored him lately, he still has a compe-
tency to solace him in his declining years.
The lady in question was not interviewed,
as it was not considered necessary as the ex-
amination will no doubt prove all that will be
required. Witnesses have been summoned from
the former neighborhood of the parties now
under a cloud, and the Enterprise trusts that
the difficulty may be amiably settled to the
satisfaction of all concerned.
