The  settlement  of  Pleasanton  has  been
going  backward  for  the  past  two  or  three  years
and  but  a few  persons  now  inhabit  this  delight-
ful valley  compared  with  the  population  of  three
or  four  years  ago.  This  is  owing  to  the  exodus
of  the  Mormons  who  practically  owned  a good
portion  of  the  valley.  The  crops  are  looking
fine  and  alfalfa  will  be  a grand  success.
