The store of H. J. Hutchinson, of Central, was entered one night last week and robbed of $25 and some other valuables. Mr. Hutchinson, who sleeps in an adjoining room, was drugged, and although he was aware of the presence of the robber he was powerless to help himself, and did not gain consciousness until about 7 o’clock the next morning, and was then so dizzy that he could not walk. The thief went through the office and secured some of the money from the drawer. It is to be regretted that some of these sneak thieves are not caught in the act and shot down. A man who will enter a house for the purpose of robbery would not hesitate to commit murder, should he have the oppor- tunity, if detected in his crime.
