this region — via Magdalena — and because of many hardships, did not arrive until 1886. They later lived in Pinos Altos, then homesteaded at Mule Creek. C. C. Harkey and wife, Laura Watkins Harkey, presently own the Mule Creek ranch. Other family now living in the area are, a son, James, of Morenci and grandsons A. C.
