Adams and the Lost Adam’s Diggins
In 1888, newspapers corrected reports of his death, stating that Adams of “Adam’s diggins” fame was then living in Encinada, near San Diego [1][2]. He had already spent three fortunes searching for the lost diggins and hoped to either find them or spend another fortune in the attempt [1][2].
