Austin D. Crile, New Mexico Military Institute Chaplain
He delivered the baccalaureate sermon at the 1944 service on May 30, titled “One World,” which summed up the year’s sermons and emphasized Christianity’s influence on Western civilization [5]. In 1946, he gave a farewell baccalaureate message of faith and hope, calling cadets to “join the march of progress” [3][1]. Through long association with cadets, he was considered well qualified to bring a message of lasting value [2][4].
