Dick Jenkins: Killed in a Springerville Cattle Round-Up Quarrel
Dick Jenkins died after being shot twice during a quarrel at a cattle round-up near Springerville. [1][2] The dispute involved John McGee, Jenkins, and round-up captain Robert Thomas; all three drew six-shooters. [1][2] Thomas was shot in the leg, which was amputated, and was expected to die. [1][2] Jenkins left a wife and family and an estate valued at $50,000. [1][2]
