Pruett escaped uninjured [1]. Simpson of Lordsburg dressed his wounds, but Stratton never rallied and died two days later [1]. Burns and Johns were arrested, examined before Justice White at Bowie, and committed to the Tombstone jail to await the grand jury [1]. The killing occurred just across the line in Arizona [1].
