George W. Grayson: Millionaire Landowner and Founder of Humboldt Land & Cattle Company

In 1891, Grayson arranged to ship 3,000 head of stock cattle from one of his ranges in New Mexico to his ranch at Beowawe, where he had plenty of feed to fatten them for market. [1][2] The move required eight trains of nineteen cars each, at a railway cost of $15,000. [1][2]
