J. H. McKenzie – Grant County burro lawsuit and cattle theft arrest
Lucas’s court, replevying a burro from him; eighteen witnesses testified [1]. Around 1890, a posse headed by a deputy sheriff raided the McKenzie ranch, capturing McKenzie and recovering burnt cattle—he was considered the ringleader of the thieves [2].
