Perfecto Rodriguez is a former constable in Silver City, New Mexico, known for a 1890 arrest where a suspect bit his finger. [1]
In 1890, while making an arrest, Rodriguez was assaulted; the belligerent got the officer's front finger on his right hand in his mouth, biting it to the bone [1].
