R. V. Newsham — Silver City merchant and justice of the peace
He had a store at the crossing but, having no customers, moved up to Silver City with his goods [2]. Years later, Newsham was involved in a mining dispute over the Copper Point mine: Redding had proffered to do work for Newsham whenever requested, but no request was made [1][4]. By 1890, he was referred to as Justice Newsham when he impaneled a jury to investigate a dead body found in Santo Domingo gulch [3].
