Red Pugh (cowboy, member of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show)
In January 1888, while in London, Pugh entered a restaurant and ordered a rare beef steak; when the waiter brought one “so rare that it jerked around on the plate,” Pugh drew his gun and fired three or four shots through the steak “to kill it,” causing a general stampede of patrons [1][2]. About fifty police officers arrived and arrested him, explaining that firing a weapon was against the laws of Queen Victoria [1][2]. He was fined for the offense [1][2].
