W. H. King: Cowboy involved in the 1889 Hachita killing of Pat Himes
King was a well-known cowboy in Grant County [3]. On July 4, 1888, he was stabbed in the side during a difficulty at the Board of Trade in Silver City [3][5]. By December 1889, King was employed by Head & Heart at Apache Tejo [3]. Bradshaw, killed Pat Himes at Separ [3]. However, some reports suggested King had left Hachita before the killing occurred [2][4]. After the incident, King fled to Tombstone, where Sheriff Whitehill offered a $100 reward for his capture [1].
