Louis to San Francisco [2][1]. Louis–Tipton), Eighth Division (Tipton–Fort Smith), Seventh Division (Fort Smith–Colbert’s Ferry), Sixth Division (Colbert’s Ferry–Fort Chadbourne), Fifth Division (Fort Chadbourne–Franklin/El Paso), Fourth Division (Franklin–Tucson), Third Division (Tucson–Fort Yuma), Second Division (Fort Yuma–Los Angeles), and First Division (Los Angeles–San Francisco) [1]. The route was designated a National Historic Trail in 2023 [1].
